Class on Country: GreenWay is a proposed education program for primary schools in the GreenWay catchment, on Gadigal and Wangal land. The project aims to facilitate embodied learning in Place by utilising the GreenWay as an outdoor classroom to learn about Indigenous culture, history, and sustainability.
CHILDREN'S WORKBOOKS
The student workbooks prototypes have been produced for Kindergarten to Year 2 heavily branded with the GreenWay illustrations and bold colours, yet provide plenty of opportunity for creativity and customisation within the activities. The activities have a strong emphasis on connection to nature, exploring the meaning of Place, and storytelling.
TEACHER'S HANDBOOK
The activities and teacher’s instructions in these prototypes have been sourced from Australians Together’s free curriculum resources. Australians Together resources are created in collaboration with First Nations cultural advisers. For the teacher's handbooks, the copy has been mostly directly taken from the online resources. At times, the concept and copy has been edited to suit the context of the GreenWay.
